*Holly Paint* - Secretary Desk

So I have had this desk had been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years.
My Aunt rescued it from her neighbor when she put it on the side of the road for the garbage man to haul away.  I was dreading painting it because of all of the cubby holes but one day I pulled it out and tackled it!  Actually it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Though I am glad I waited to paint it because I have learned a lot over the years which made this project easier than I thought.

I started by sanding and priming the desk.
I then used a dark teal spray paint on the cubby holes to add a pop of color.  The body of the desk is painted antique white, lightly distressed and waxed for protection.

I found these bronze and diamond handles at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be perfect to finish off the desk. I used small glass-like knobs for the smaller drawers.

I found this little Slipper Rocking Chair in a junk pile just waiting for someone to rescue it!

I loved the size and details of the chair and cannot believe someone just threw it out.
My handy husband replaced the seat and I painted the chair black.
Someone is going to be sorry they threw this out...isn't it lovely??!!!

It's for sale for anyone who is interested (local sales only, please).
Only $55.00 what a bargain!

I found this box in a junk pile last summer and it has been sitting on my back porch waiting for a makeover.  My mom is setting up a "Grand-kid Play Room" and asked me if I had something she could store wooden blocks in...so this box came to mind.

So after a little paint and Mod Podge this box was ready for its new home!

*Holly Junkin'*

Went out to garage sales on day and came upon a foreclosed house with a pile of junk sitting in front of it. So I told my Handy Husband to stop and then I rummaged through it all.
He was freakin' out because he thinks it's illegal to rummage through unwanted junk. I think I'm doing my part to save the Earth! Anyways I hit the jackpot with 4 wooden frames.

All turning into chalkboards in the near future.

This frame was a legal find! 1 buck at a garage sale...
