*Holly Paint*

I found this nightstand at a garage sale this summer and loved the size and shape.
It sat in my garage while I tried to decide exactly how I wanted to paint it.  I received a request for a navy blue nightstand for a boys room and this nightstand came to mind.  It seems to have a boyish-masculine feel  and navy blue seemed perfect.

I'm loving this nightstand...something totally different than my
normal "cottage-shabby chic" colors!

The client also requested stripes in white, red and tan...so this is how I incorporated them...the pull is satin nickel.

I added a fabric lined drawer for a finishing touch.
I totally had fun doing this nightstand...and through it all I learned that the next time I paint navy...I will tint my primer first...it took lots of coats to get this final product
...I LOVE lessons!

  1. That is wonderful! I've never seen a nightstand like that!

  2. This turned out great Holly! I love it!! The stripes look great!

  3. Everyone always leave comments on your blog with exclamation marks! I will do the same!!

Really though, it looks good, Holly. Just like everything else you touch.

  4. awesome! love the color, the stripes, and the style- it is so perfect for a boy's room!

  5. Were the stripes painted on top of the blue?

  6. To Everyone...thanks for the comments and compliments!

To Annie: Yes, the stripes were painted on top of the blue. I marked them off with painters tape, primed them, then painted the colors on!

  7. This turned out great! Love the stars in the drawer. Visiting via Tute in Tuesday
